Job description

Title: Project Executive โ€“ Multifamily Construction

Location: Columbus, OH

Employment Type: Direct Hire / Full-Time

Our client, a well-established commercial general contractor, is seeking an experienced Project Executive with multifamily construction experience to lead large-scale projects from preconstruction through completion. This position will provide overall leadership and oversight of multiple projects while managing project teams, client relationships, schedules, budgets, and operational performance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in multifamily construction, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

Position Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and direction for multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Oversee multiple Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams.
  • Establish project goals, schedules, budgets, and execution strategies.
  • Monitor project financial performance, including budgets, costs, forecasting, billing, and profitability.
  • Review project schedules and ensure teams are meeting critical milestones and contractual requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to Project Managers and Superintendents throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain strong relationships with owners, developers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Participate in preconstruction activities, including budgeting, estimating, value engineering, constructability reviews, and project planning.
  • Review contracts, scopes of work, change orders, and other project documentation.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks before they impact schedule, budget, or quality.
  • Lead regular project reviews and provide senior-level reporting to company leadership.
  • Assist with resolving major project issues, conflicts, and client concerns.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to quality standards.
  • Help develop and implement company-wide construction processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Support business development efforts and participate in client presentations and project pursuits when needed.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of commercial construction experience, with significant experience in multifamily construction.
  • Previous experience as a Project Executive, Senior Project Manager, Project Director, or similar senior-level construction position.
  • Proven experience overseeing multiple projects and project teams.
  • Strong understanding of multifamily construction processes, scheduling, budgeting, contracts, and project controls.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects with significant budgets and complex scopes.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including experience with project forecasting and profitability.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management software.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred.
