Position Summary:

Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Litigation Support Specialist- Toxic Tort to join our dynamic litigation practice in our Columbus, Ohio office. In this key role, you will serve as a vital bridge between our legal teams, clients, and case management systems, ensuring seamless operations across multiple toxic tort matters. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment where strong organizational skills, proactive communication, and technical proficiency directly impact client satisfaction and case outcomes.

Essential Functions:

  • Set up and maintain new matters in firm and client tracking software; ensure accurate and timely logging of case status updates and matter closures.
  • Manage receipt, organization, and distribution of pleadings and case materials; maintain comprehensive document control systems.
  • Schedule deposition coverage, prepare comprehensive deposition files, and coordinate logistics for expert depositions.
  • Assist attorneys with discovery research and document organization to support litigation strategy.
  • Prepare regular client reports (weekly/monthly/quarterly) and respond promptly to client information requests; serve as a reliable point of contact for case updates.
  • Assist with accurate time tracking and billing documentation.
  • Contribute to discovery research and document analysis activities.
  • Act as lead coordinator for collection of medical records, cost sharing and distribution of records.
  • Tracking key case dates and deadlines imposed by court docketing schedules.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Proficiency with matter management software (ProLaw or comparable platforms)
  • Advanced competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data management and reporting
  • Strong working knowledge of legal terminology and civil litigation processes
  • Expertise with legal document management systems

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in legal operations, case management, or litigation support roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

The expected pay scale for this position is $30.77–$35.90 per hour (overtime eligible per applicable laws) with an approximate annualized equivalent of $60,000.00–$70,000.00 based on 37.50 hrs./week. Actual earnings may vary. The actual compensation offered will depend on factors such as your qualifications, relevant experience, education, work location, and market conditions.
