Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION: 

Qcells is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join our Mobile Residential Applications team. You will play a key role in building the next-generation mobile experience for solar homeowners and installers. This includes developing native Android features for on-site solar system commissioning, real-time telemetry, and homeowner engagement.

You’ll collaborate with other mobile engineers, backend teams, product managers, designers, and hardware engineers to deliver a seamless, scalable, and intuitive mobile experience.

LOCATION & WORK ARRANGEMENT 
Candidates must live in the Pacific Time Zone to support collaboration with global teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver high-quality Android features and apps using a GenAI-first workflow.
  • Own integrations with AI services and tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Spec-it.
  • Architect and lead mobile technical design.
  • Ship to production with CI/CD and monitoring.
  • Champion quality, safety, and responsible AI use.
  • Collaborate across functions, time zones and cultures.
  • Promote best practices for mobile architecture, performance, and reliability
  • Design mobile experiences that function effectively in field environments, including offline and intermittent connectivity
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related.
  • 8+ years of software development experience, with 5+ years in native Android development using modern programming languages such as Kotlin
  • Experience shipping features using GenAI tools such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot.
  • Proven ability to deliver AI-assisted requirements, UX, code, and tests end-to-end.
  • Expertise integrating with AI platforms and building prompt libraries.
  • Strong mobile architecture background.
  • Experience driving cross-team communications and collaboration.
  • Travel may be required up to 10%, depending on business needs.
  • Deep understanding of mobile architecture, offline strategy, and scalable mobile application design
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Solar Industry experience (Renewable)
  • Experience building AI evaluation frameworks.
  • Experience in working with globally distributed teams, preferably in Korea and India
