    Commercial Business Developer

    Location: TAMPA, FL

    • 4 days onsite, 1 day remote - weekly

    • Remote - the week of Thanksgiving and the week of Christmas

    • 2 Weeks remote Annually

    • This position requires the individual to work full-time onsite in the Tampa, FL office.

    Job Description Summary:

    At GEICO, our associates are the heart of the company. We're looking for Commercial Business Developer in our Tampa, FL office who are driven, solution-oriented, and ready to take our business-to-business agency sales team to the next level.
    As a Commercial Business Developer, you will deliver strategic sales initiatives with a defined territory of agencies and build their book of GEICO business through approved underwriting practices. Business Developers will use their strong ability to influence, along with analytical and decision-making skills to provide guidance and support that promotes preference for GEICO products and services. This role acts as a subject matter expert of product lines and systems to provide recommendations that improve customer experience, sales closure, and retention with new and existing customers in the business-to-business space. Business Developers help their agencies achieve sales targets through actionable goal setting and understanding of their business needs.

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • 2 years sales/consulting experience (business-to-business sales a plus)

    • Must have prior experience with commercial insurance OR relevant commercial auto and trucking industry experience

    • Highly effective oral and written communicator - must be comfortable presenting, persuading, and networking through multiple channels (in-person, virtually, over the phone, etc.)

    • Ability to work individually and as a team collaborator with strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment

    • Experience interpreting and analyzing data to make informed decisions that support growth initiatives

    • Knowledge of industry changes, technology, and desire for continued learning

    • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent

    Preferred Skills:

    • A bachelor's degree

    • Prior experience working with Independent Insurance Agents

    • Prior experience with caseload management and customer follow-up

    • Prior experience working with different lines of insurance a plus (P&C, Commercial, Life/Health)

    • Prior experience working with independent insurance agents
