Job description

Our client, a leading technology organization specializing in networking and security solutions, is seeking a Senior Systems Software Engineer to join their team. As a Senior Systems Software Engineer, you will be part of the Software Engineering Department supporting network protocols and system software development. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Senior Systems Software Engineer
Location:Redmond, WA
Duration: 18 month contract

Pay Range:$60-$62/hour

What's the Job?

  • Design, develop, implement, test, and maintain complex system and application software related to networking protocols and security features.
  • Analyze system requirements, document specifications, and develop tailored software solutions to meet client needs.
  • Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and issue resolution for legacy and new software systems using advanced tools and techniques.
  • Develop and enhance automated test suites to improve validation coverage and reliability across multiple projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network security technologies such as VPN, IPSec, and Software-Defined Networking (SDN).

What's Needed?

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems and OS-level engineering, with proficiency in C and C++ programming.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows OS and Linux environments, including debugging tools like Windows Debugger, Wireshark, gdb, and tcpdump.
  • Hands-on experience with networking protocols such as IPSec, TCP, and QUIC, and familiarity with VPN and SDN technologies.
  • Proficiency with scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell and YAML files.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze complex system-level issues and implement effective solutions.
