Position Overview
ANSER is seeking an Associate Strategic Planning & Program Analyst to provide operations and analysis support within the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Base Policy (IBP), Global Investment and Economic Security Directorate (GIES). In this role, you will support GIES leadership in strategic planning, program management, and transformation initiatives. You will assist with data analysis, project tracking, and the preparation of briefings and reports to inform leadership decision-making.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Assist with strategic planning, program management, and implementation support for GIES missions, economic security initiatives, and the National Defense Strategy (NDS).
  • Support the development and maintenance of project plans, roadmaps, and plan of actions and milestones (POAMs) for strategic projects.
  • Conduct data collection, research, and basic analysis to inform program and project recommendations.
  • Assist senior leadership with preparation of reports, briefings, and other communications for internal and external audiences, including DoD leadership, analysts, interagency stakeholders, allies, and Congress.
  • Support process improvement, transformation, and governance initiatives within GIES.
  • Contribute to the development of metrics, performance measures, and reporting tools for strategic initiatives.
  • Assist with tracking program progress, deliverables, and project outcomes.
  • Support coordination of interagency and cross-functional activities related to strategic initiatives.
  • Help draft documentation, presentations, and white papers to communicate program goals, status, and recommendations.
  • Conduct initial research and due diligence to support analyses of program options and recommendations.
  • Support leadership in identifying and assessing potential business or program risks.
  • Assist with preparing decision support materials for leadership consideration.

Required Qualifications
  • Active Top Secret/SCI eligible clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 years' relevant experience in strategic planning, project/program management, organizational transformation, or analysis support, including:
    • Supporting senior leadership with strategic planning, project tracking, and program implementation activities.
    • Conducting research, data collection, and preliminary analysis to inform decision-making.
    • Assisting with development of project plans, roadmaps, POAMs, and reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience supporting multiple tasks or projects across complex organizations.
  • Experience supporting project objectives through activities such as interviews, data gathering, or basic analyses.
  • Experience assisting with the management or coordination of staff or team activities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Experience operating within the Department of Defense (DoD), Industrial Base Policy, or a similar strategic-level staff environment.
  • Experience supporting project implementation, process improvement, or transformation initiatives.
  • Experience preparing briefings, presentations, or reports for senior leadership.
  • Professional certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher), or equivalent is a plus.
