Position Overview
ANSER is seeking an Economic Security Policy Analyst to support the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Base Policy (IBP), Global Investment and Economic Security Directorate (GIES). In this role you will work with allies, partners, industry, and Congress to address economic security and foreign investment risks. You will support partner capability and capacity building for economic security and help identify and mitigate foreign investment risks within the Defense Industrial Base (DIB).
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses of international and industrial base issues, focusing on critical new and emerging technologies relevant to DoD and near-peer competitors.
  • Perform microeconomic and macroeconomic research using open-source and classified databases.
  • Prepare reports and briefings that document methodology, data sources, analysis results, and specific recommendations.
  • Support development of economic security policies, studies, and initiatives related to the DIB.
  • Provide program support to working groups or task forces focused on supply chain resilience and risk mitigation.
  • Assist in designing and executing realistic scenario exercises (e.g., wargaming) based on government guidance, intelligence, and operational requirements.
  • Support planning, execution, and participation in wargames and related simulation exercises.
  • Contribute to drafting DoD Directives and Instructions for processes addressing foreign investment review, supply chain resilience, and risk monitoring methodologies.

Required Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI eligible clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 years' relevant economic security experience
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in one of the following areas: International Affairs, Diplomacy, Economics, Finance, National Security, or Business Administration
  • Experience communicating effectively (written and oral) with senior DoD and USG leaders
  • Experience distilling complex industrial base, global investment, and economic security issues into clear written reports and oral presentations for senior leadership
  • Experience preparing and conducting business analyses, needs assessments, requirements analysis/definition, and cost/benefit analyses to align business systems and initiatives
  • Experience with forecasts, trend analysis, regulatory reporting, and identifying potential business risks
  • Experience developing and analyzing metrics, performance measurements, requirements, reports, and recommendations related to management, organizational structure, policy/procedures, and business systems
  • Experience identifying potential business risks, including business performance, economic case analysis, internal controls, and enterprise risk assessment
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Experience in International Affairs, Diplomacy, Economics, Finance, National Security, or Business Administration
  • Experience supporting GIES or similar senior DoD-level organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage projects from concept through completion
