Job description

Manufacturing Support Technician – 2nd Shift – Fontana, CA

Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday

2:30 pm-11 pm PST

Job Summary:

The Manufacturing Support Technician is responsible for providing support for the daily manufacturing needs of the production team. As a Manufacturing Support Technician on our 2nd shift, you will support production's technical needs including process, NC, and ERP/MES troubleshooting in order to maintain quality and efficiency at a high level in a fast-paced custom metal manufacturing environment.

What You Will Do:

  • Support production's technical needs including process, NC, and ERP/MES troubleshooting.
  • Generate NC programs for steel metal laser and CNC turret punch presses utilizing SigmaNest CAM programming software.
  • Read and interpret work orders, drawings, blueprints, and sketches, along with written and verbal instructions to produce and edit part drawings/layouts in SolidWorks and print part layouts for manufacturing.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with programs or missing NCs.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of parts as requested by operators or supervisors.
  • Design, model, and test prototype assemblies of products in SolidWorks.
  • Collaborate with office personnel, leads, and shop floor personnel to answer customer or sales questions about orders and manufacturing issues related to drawings or assemblies.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Associates degree in a technical field, completed technical training program, and/or 3+ years of hands-on experience in a related capacity (Required)
  • CAD certification or equivalent experience (Required)
  • Experience in SolidWorks for modeling and design (Required); Sheetmetal, advanced assembly, drawings and custom properties experience (Preferred)
  • Experience in turret/laser programming using a CAM software for programming sheet metal parts (Required)
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Outlook, highly organized, and attentive to tight deadlines (Required)
  • 2+ years' experience in a custom manufacturing environment (Preferred)
  • Experience using SigmaNest, operating a Laser or CNC Turret Punch, and understanding of 5S and lean manufacturing (Preferred)

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.

  • The expected Base Hourly Range: $28.00 - $35.00. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
