Senior Product Marketing Manager – HCM & Payroll About the Role

We're looking for a Product Marketing Manager initiates and collaborates on positioning, content, and go-to-market execution for UKG's HCM and Payroll product lines. This is a builder role — you'll develop the slides, the stories, the battlecards, and the launch plans. You'll be a key team player between Product Management, Sales, and Marketing, making sure products are clearly positioned and sales teams are fully enabled to win.

We're looking for someone who can identify what needs to be done and drive it independently, while working effectively within a small team as well as across a large, cross-functional organization.

Key Responsibilities can include:

Positioning & Messaging

  • Develop differentiated messaging and value propositions for HCM and Payroll products
  • Build and maintain persona frameworks and product capability maps
  • Create competitive differentiation materials — battlecards, competitive decks, ROI narratives
  • Develop compelling stories tied to measurable HR and Payroll business outcomes

Market & Customer Strategy

  • Lead market segmentation and ICP definition for select HCM and Payroll products
  • Compile competitive research and monitor market trends to sharpen positioning
  • Map customer journeys across HR, Payroll, and Finance buyer and user personas
  • Gather and synthesize field feedback from Sales and act as the voice of the customer to Product Management
  • Perform opportunity sizing and whitespace analysis to identify growth areas

Product Commercialization

  • Own end-to-end product launches for HCM and Payroll, from planning through post-launch measurement
  • Partner with Pricing and GTM on packaging, tiering, and monetization input
  • Build and maintain core sales enablement content — decks, one-pagers, demo guides, FAQs
  • Define launch success metrics and track post-launch adoption

Product Operations & Project Management

  • Serve as an operational hub for product marketing: manage intake, prioritization, and content calendars
  • Build and maintain project tracking systems that keep launches and campaigns on schedule
  • Coordinate across Marketing, Product, and Sales to ensure cross-functional alignment and on‑time delivery
  • Create scalable templates and repeatable processes that increase team output and consistency

Business & Product Influence

  • Act as a trusted partner to Product Management, feeding in customer and market insights to influence roadmap
  • Translate field learnings into actionable recommendations for Sales strategy and positioning
  • Support executive‑level presentations as needed
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience in product marketing or a closely related field (SaaS/B2B strongly preferred); HCM, Payroll, or HR tech experience a plus
  • Hands‑on content creator — comfortable building slides, one‑pagers, and enablement assets yourself
  • Strong project management skills; proven ability to manage multiple workstreams with competing deadlines
  • Self‑starter who can identify what needs to be done and execute without waiting for direction
  • Strong cross‑functional collaborator — comfortable working across Product, Sales, Marketing, and Finance in a matrixed environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong storytelling instincts
  • Familiarity with project management tools (Confluence, Jira , or similar) a plus
Success in This Role Looks Like
  • HCM and Payroll products clearly positioned in market with materials Sales uses to win deals
  • Product launches executed on time with measurable adoption impact
  • A reliable, organized presence that cross‑functional partners know they can count on
  • Growing ownership of strategic work — positioning, roadmap influence, competitive strategy — over time
  • Strong working relationships with Product, Sales, and Marketing stakeholders
