Job description

Title: Mechanical Drafter
Location: Carbondale, PA 18407
Hire Type: Direct Hire
Salary Range: $50k-$55k
Bonus: Monthly bonus opportunity up to 30%

Responsibilities
  • Create detailed fabrication and shop drawings to support industrial manufacturing projects
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for perforated pattern layouts
  • Assist in the design and layout of new perforation patterns, including tool layout, material selection, and manufacturing processes
  • Maintain engineering print files, tooling data, and drawing history for traceability and reference
  • Support Customer Service by interpreting blueprints and confirming customer specifications and tolerances
  • Develop sample perforation patterns and pre-production drawings
  • Create PDF, DXF, and CAD files to support programming and production equipment
  • Assist with R&D efforts by evaluating feasibility of new products and supporting pre-production meetings
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to track new customer orders through production and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Provide fabrication drawing support to the Architectural team as needed
 
Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree in Design, Drafting, or a related field, or equivalent transferable experience
  • 5+ years of design experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD software
  • 3+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Strong ability to read and interpret part fabrication drawings
  • Working knowledge of sheet metal applications, tolerances, materials, and manufacturing equipment
  • Understanding of tooling, tool manufacturing, and tool service practices
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and CAD/CAM software
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
