Together, we thrive as we shape the future of health for patients, our communities, and our people. If you want to be part of tomorrow’s health today, we want to hear from you.

This role offers location flexibility and is open to candidates across the United States.

Candidates based in the Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW) area will be hired in a hybrid capacity and are expected to work onsite at our Las Colinas office a minimum of two (2) days per week, with the remaining days worked remotely. Specific inoffice days may be designated based on team needs and business priorities.

About the Role:

As a Senior Program Manager within the McKesson Commercial Strategy & Innovation segment, this role will be responsible for successful delivery of key programs and projects that span multiple McKesson business units & segments.  The Senior Program Manager is committed to continuous alignment of program goals with the organization’s strategic objectives. This role will work closely with key stakeholders and partners across these segments on planning, monitoring, and execution of these strategic initiatives to deliver program/projects on scope, on time, and on budget.

Many of the programs in CSI involve software, data, platform, or integration components. As such, this role requires a leader with strong program management discipline and technical fluency to work effectively with architects, engineering teams, and technical product management. The individual will translate complex technical concepts into clear business implications while ensuring alignment across technical and commercial teams.

What You'll Do:

Program Leadership & Delivery

  • Serves as the primary lead in facilitating full‑spectrum commercialization of products and services wrapped into programs & projects across McKesson.

  • Provide organization, coordination and leadership for cross‑functional project teams to ensure project deliverables and timelines are met.

  • Responsible for developing & maintaining detailed project/program outlines, including scope, deliverables, goals, budgets, & timelines.

  • Ensures workstreams continue to execute/implement according to the overall program plan and identifies/highlights/works to resolve areas where workstreams run into roadblocks.

  • Provides monitoring and support on program status, key performance indicators, and other qualitative/quantitative metrics to key stakeholders and leaders across multiple segments.

  • Conducts regular program reviews with key stakeholders and leadership to keep teams apprised of progress, next steps, and key risks identified.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Communication Champion

  • Identify, document, and mitigate key risks, issues, and dependencies across the program and recommend actions to ensure successful completion of projects.

  • Serve as the central connector across executives, cross‑functional partners, workstream leads, and technical teams by ensuring communication is clear, timely, consistent, and audience‑appropriate.

  • Translate complex program updates (risks, issues, dependencies, technical or operational implications) into crisp, actionable insights for executive leaders and stakeholders.

  • Elevate risks, issues, and bottlenecks with clarity — providing context, recommended mitigation paths, and decision requests to Sponsors, SteerCo, and leaders.

  • Maintain high program visibility by proactively sharing status, milestones, KPIs, and emerging concerns through established reporting cadences (workstream huddles, bi‑weekly status, SteerCo, dashboards).

  • Drive alignment across functions by ensuring all stakeholders receive the right information at the right time, reducing ambiguity and preventing miscommunication.

  • Foster a culture of transparency and accountability, encouraging open dialogue on challenges, trade‑offs, and interdependencies across teams.

  • Ensure expectations are aligned early and often, adapting communication style for executives, peers, and technical partners to accelerate decision‑making and collaboration

Cross‑Functional & Technical Collaboration

  • Serve as contact & advocate for and between product management, technical teams, and business leaders to ensure transparency, accurate messaging, and understanding across all levels of the organization.

  • Works closely with partners in Product, IT, Strategic Marketing, Sales, Strategy, Legal, Compliance, and other functions to ensure correct scoping and deliverables for key program initiatives.

  • Identifies, facilitates, and advances thought processes and work as related to overall program and organizational objectives.

Technical & Solution Alignment

  • Engage directly with architects, engineers, and technical product partners to understand solution options, system constraints, technical feasibility, and integration points. This supports communication across functional groups and dependent groups.

  • Translate complex technical concepts, system behaviors, and solution designs into clear, digestible updates for non‑technical and executive stakeholders.

  • Maintain visibility into technical workstreams to ensure architectural decisions, build progress, and technical blockers are proactively raised and incorporated into overall program delivery.

  • Collaborate with engineering and MT partners to ensure technical requirements are thoroughly captured, validated, and reflected in program plans, deliverables, and milestone tracking.

Basic Requirements:
