Job Description:
Orbital is seeking an Asset Management Program Manager / Senior Project Manager with over ten years of experience to manage a diverse portfolio of projects and programs within a client fleet. This role involves providing both technical leadership and project execution oversight in a consulting environment and requires broad-based expertise in the power generation industrial sector. The Program Manager will be responsible for directing multi-year, multi-site asset management initiatives that combine inspection, engineering, risk assessment, and capital planning.
The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to clients, taking ownership of program execution, technical leadership, and continuous improvement. This includes managing multidisciplinary teams and maintaining responsibility for the scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety of all projects. The position is primarily office-based, involving a mix of in-office, remote, and periodic field work at local client facilities.
Essential Functions
Asset Management Program Leadership
    • Lead the development, execution, and ongoing management of Asset Management and Asset Integrity programs, including structural and other infrastructure assets
    • Serve as the primary technical and programmatic point of contact for assigned clients, ensuring alignment with asset lifecycle goals, risk tolerance, and operational priorities
    • Support clients with long-term planning efforts, including inspection strategies, risk-based prioritization, repair planning, and program optimization
    • Hire staff, establish individual goals and expectations, and conduct performance reviews. Direct, develop, and supervise and provide guidance to all direct reports.

Project & Technical Oversight
    • Oversee engineering, inspection, and design activities across multiple concurrent projects within client asset programs
    • Plan, schedule, and direct the work of engineers, designers, inspectors, and subcontractors to ensure consistent, first-time quality execution
    • Review and approve technical deliverables
    • Lead internal and external technical reviews, quality reviews, and program status meetings

Standards, Quality & Continuous Improvement
    • Develop, maintain, and improve technical standards, specifications, and inspection methodologies used across Asset Management programs
    • Ensure all work is executed in accordance with Orbital's Quality Management System (QMS) and applicable client, regulatory, and industry requirements
    • Promote consistency, repeatability, and defensibility in inspection and asset condition data across facilities and programs

Client Relationship & Business Development
    • Manage and strengthen long-term client relationships within the region
    • Collaborate with Orbital leadership and Strategic Partners to support program expansions, renewals, and new Asset Management opportunities
    • Contribute to proposal development, including scopes of work, execution strategies, schedules, and cost estimates for Asset Management programs

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Structural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or a minimum of 10 years of directly relevant Asset Management or Project Management experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience, preferably within a consulting engineering or asset integrity environment
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred
  • TWIC card holder preferred
  • Demonstrated experience leading Asset Management, Asset Integrity, Mechanical Integrity (MI), or Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) programs is preferred
  • Experience supporting asset-intensive industries such as oil & gas, refining, chemical processing, power generation, manufacturing, steel, mining, or materials processing
  • Strong understanding of Asset Management principles, including inspection planning, risk-based prioritization, lifecycle decision-making, and program governance
  • Proficiency with project management tools, project controls, and scheduling software (e.g., Microsoft Project)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with operations, maintenance, engineering, and management personnel
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and operate successfully in a collaborative consulting environment
  • Ability to commute to local client sites as required; occasional travel to support other Orbital offices or programs may be necessary

Location Note:
This is an on-site and hybrid / remote position. Compensation is based on market data and internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's location.
Salary Range:
$93,000-157,000 annually (based on experience, qualifications, and location)
