Job description

Position Title: Senior Analyst, Financial Planning and Analysis
Position Summary:
The Senior Analyst Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) identifies, models and recommends ideas pertaining to financial risks and opportunities within the business, leveraging the Finance Team as well as cross-functional relationships. Among other responsibilities, the Senior Analyst manages short and long-term forecasts, understands the airline industry and JetBlue's strategy as it pertains to the competitive landscape and communicates financial plans and concepts to JetBlue crewmembers, including members of the Executive Leadership Team.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Drive departmental operating forecasting (short and long term), ensuring all department forecasts are accurate and communicated to department leadership
  • Collaborate with Managers and above to provide strategic guidance and sound business decision support to cost center leaders through proper financial analysis, collaboration and critical thinking
  • Prepare material to be presented to Executive Leadership and Board Members including the annual operating plan, quarterly earnings, and monthly business reviews
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the business, communicating effectively to ensure key stakeholders are informed and aligned on financial goals and results
  • Fulfill and manage ad hoc requests including complex analysis as requested by Senior Management and projects requiring cross-functional coordination
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
  • Three (3) years of financial modeling, working with financial systems, analytical reasoning and presentation experience in a professional setting (i.e. FP&A, Corporate Finance, Accounting, Investment Banking, Consulting, etc.)
  • Ability to work alongside and communicate effectively with different groups and organizational levels across JetBlue
  • Ability to drive results under the tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task across a variety of projects, departments and timelines
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (15%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or appropriate post-graduate degree or licensing
  • Experience querying large data sets using Structured Query Language (SQL) and using analytical tools such as Tableau
  • Effective communication across myriad channels and groups including Executive Leadership
  • Advanced forecasting and modeling capabilities and financial systems expertise

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun
  • Promote JetBlue's #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue's Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards

Compensation:
  • The base pay range for this position is between $80,000.00 and $132,000.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue's total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
