Job description

Job Description:
Join a global technology leader and take your technical career to the next level. North Star Imaging (NSI) is a worldwide leader in 2D digital radiography and 3D computed tomography equipment. As part of Illinois Tool Works (ITW), a Fortune 250 company, we combine the agility of a specialized technology business with the strength and stability of a global industrial powerhouse.
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Welder to join our Production team. In this role, you will perform basic weldment assemblies per print specifications to build high quality industrial CT and X-ray systems. Travel opportunities are available to install systems on customer sites.
What You will Do:
  • Primary Responsibilities
    • Weld (MIG & TIG) various parts together using hand tools, torch, welding equipment, etc.
    • Assemble completed weldments into final product
    • Follow verbal and written work instructions including blueprints
    • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations (5S, ISO, etc.)
    • Other duties as assigned
  • Secondary Responsibilities
    • Systems integration: occasional travel to install systems at customer site
    • Adhere to NSI's waste management and recycling policies

What We're Looking For:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related fabrication, production or manufacturing role
  • Experience with:
    • MIG & TIG welding fundamentals
    • Blueprint reading
    • Safety operations of hand & power tools
    • Fabrication shop work environment
    • Use of hand tools, power tools, fork truck, overhead crane, scissor lift, rigging equipment
    • Mechanical and automation assembly preferred
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Good written and verbal communication

Compensation Information:
The pay rate for this role is $25-31/hour, depending on education and experience.
