Who We Are
Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is seeking a qualified professional for the position of Engineer Systems 3 - JLVC Capability Manager. This role supports the Naval Surface Warfare Center - Corona (NSWC Corona) in delivering Marine Corps Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training. The selected individual will assist with the operational testing, development, and integration of Navy and Marine Corps LVC training systems, ensuring they are compatible, interoperable, and aligned with USMC and Fleet training requirements. This position is based at the Training Support Center (TSC) on Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA.
What You Will Do
  • Provide subject matter expertise on the capabilities of Joint Live Virtual Constructive (JLVC) federate simulations and tools in JLVC catalog to meet specified training objectives.
  • Provide training to BSC staff and end users to facilitate effective employment of JLVC federate simulations and tools. Training includes installation procedures, initialization, user roles, and participation in training events.
  • Conduct continuing education activity to ensure awareness of emerging JLVC capabilities, planned development roadmaps for existing JLVC capabilities, and enhance understanding of effective employment of JLVC simulations and tools.
  • Initialize and employ instances of JLVC federate simulations to meet training objectives.
  • Manage the local simulation artifacts for each of the JLVC federates (parametric databases, enumeration tables, 3D models, terrain, etc.) and their alignment with Marine Corps Training and Education Command (TECOM)-provided versions and adjustments for unique local training requirements.
  • Support the continuous refinement of enterprise documentation regarding JLVC federates' capabilities and best practices for their implementation in support of different LVC training constructs.
  • Support the Federation Manager in federating instances of JLVC simulations and tools to meet training objectives.

What You Must Have
  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Candidate must be familiar with Linux (command line) and Windows operating systems.
  • Candidate must have technical leadership ability.
  • Candidate must be able to address technical issues by understanding which engineering domain problems belong to and then assign engineers from the appropriate domains to resolve issues.
  • Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable communicating at various levels of the organization.
  • Candidate must be familiar with MS Office.
  • Candidate must have A current CompTIA Security + certification is required for the position.
  • Candidate must currently hold and be able to maintain a US Secret clearance.

Bonus Points For Having!
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related discipline plus 6 to 8 years of related experience
  • Knowledge of distributed simulation protocols such as High Level Architecture (HLA) and Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS)
  • Familiarity with networking concepts, architectures, and protocols such as TCP/IP and UDP
  • Experience with MS Visio software to produce technical architecture drawings
  • Knowledge of Navy C4I tactical systems such as Link 16 and GCCS
  • Experience of working with Navy systems and/or commands

Physical Requirements
Office, industrial, or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving materials may be required.
