Job description

Bluewater Marine is now hiring structural welders for the nation's largest shipyard - Huntington Ingalls Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News, VA.  With over 22 years of experience, Bluewater Marine will always treat you like a valuable employee, not just a number on a list.  We are currently offering a sign on bonus of $500 AND a referral bonus of $500 for every valuable employee you refer.  If you've worked in Newport News Shipbuilding in the past, there's an additional $500 bonus!

Experience:
Four years commercial / industrial / naval experience as a first class Welder.

Required Skills:
1. Multi-pass. All position fillet and butt welds using the following processes: SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding), Pulse Arc Welding and FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding).  Tests are X-rayed
2. Heating - Oxygen/Propane Heating Torch.
3. Experience working in a physically demanding environment (shipboard, sub-assemblies, ladders, staging, etc.).
4. Familiarity with OSHA regulations relative to the shipbuilding industry.
5. Air Carbon Arc Gouging.
6. Ability to properly use fillet and butt weld gauges.
