Job description

At HealthPartners, every patient journey begins with timely, coordinated care. As part of our Centralized Hospital Operations team, the Patient Placement Registered Nurse plays a critical role in supporting efficient patient throughput and optimal bed utilization across HealthPartners hospitals. This role ensures timely and appropriate patient placement by coordinating with nursing units, Administrative Nursing Supervisors, House Charge Nurses, and admitting departments. The patient placement registered nurse leverages data-driven insights and communication tools to maintain real-time awareness of hospital capacity, facilitating smooth transitions of care, and supporting operational excellence.

CHO brings together key clinical and patient logistics functions into a centralized model designed to support safe, reliable patient care while improving operational efficiency and consistency across our hospitals.

Work Schedule: .6 FTEs & .75 FTEs, Nights,12 hours, every third weekend

Required Qualifications: 

  • Completion of a baccalaureate program in nursing or Associate degree RN enrolled in a bachelor of nursing program. 
  • Minimum of two (2) years in hospital operations, patient flow, or clinical coordination.
  • Current Registered Nurse license for either Minnesota or Wisconsin required upon hire. Must have both current MN & WI Registered Nurse license within 6 months of hire. Both Minnesota and Wisconsin license must be maintained.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent customer service and collaboration abilities. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and hospital information systems (Epic or similar). 
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with emphasis on real-time issue resolution. 
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Attention to detail and data accuracy. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
