Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required. 6 years related work experience in an aviation or related career field or 2 years accredited schooling in aviation 4 years related work experience in an aviation or related career field. 3 years supervisory experience. A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license preferred. Position Purpose:The Aircraft Coordinator is considered an extension of leadership and performs under the direction of the Operations Manager. This role is the primary liaison for coordinating all work and inspection activities in the assigned area. Recognizing this role as a leadership role in the area, this role is responsible for planning and assigning crewmembers, providing focus on quality, scheduling and costs. In addition, this role provides support and advises department management in tactics and strategies as well as stand in for the Operations Manager when they require it.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:
  1. Assigns and coordinates all work tasks to ensure a smooth workflow by working directly with aircraft mechanics/technicians, engineering, and planning.
  2. Works with management teams to ensure company/department goals related to safety, quality, schedule and cost are met.
  3. Subject Matter Expert for all installations/processes within assigned department.
  4. Works with OE/ME/IEs to ensure Work Plans, Work Orders, and Work Instructions are correct, and supports changes to the work order as needed for changes to installations or processes.
  5. Works with OE/ME/IEs on lean initiatives.
  6. Oversees and coordinates department training compliance including skills matrix training, scheduled training, and CBTs.
  7. Responsible for coordination and execution of any out-of-station work in a way that minimizes the impact on the customer.
  8. Responsible for reducing and eliminating out-of-station carry over work through process improvements.
  9. Oversees and coordinates the Delegated Inspection Program within assigned department in order to obtain inspection stamps for technicians .
  10. Assigns and coordinates all work tasks to ensure a smooth workflow by working directly with coordinators, mechanics/technicians, quality, engineering, materials, and planning.
  11. Oversees all work to ensure compliance with relevant specifications and released data.
  12. Leads continuous safety program and maintenance of 6S standards.
  13. Reviews daily job charging to ensure accuracy of input.
  14. Provides recommendations on EPR evaluations.
Additional Functions:
  1. Knowledgeable and maintains current aircraft status information, and present to management as required. .
  2. In support of aircraft certification ensures all documentation is retained and First Article Inspections (FAI) are coordinated through the certification office and Quality. .
  3. Ensures compliance with High Risk Task procedures including making sure JRA/JSAs are up to date and available. .
  4. Reviews all quality discrepancies to ensure they have been properly addressed and trended items reported. .
  5. Works with materials dispatchers/purchasing to ensure availability of parts/components/materials. .
  6. Ensures department participation in MBU side-bar teams; Site Safety Council, Quality Council, Continuous Improvement Council, Ergo Council, FOD Council, etc. .
Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements:
  1. Preferred proficiency, or demonstrated ability to become proficient, in the operation and troubleshooting of other aircraft systems or disciplines other than avionics, such as Hydraulics, Landing Gear, Flight Controls, Environmental Controls or Structural Installations and Repairs.
  2. Knowledge of Solumina and Smarteam preferred.
  3. Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  4. Ability to read and interpret travelers, maintenance manuals, engineering orders, and blueprints.
This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
