About the Company
Our client, a prominent environmental management firm, is currently seeking an Assistant Operations Manager for their office in Langley. This in-office role and offers a competitive salary of up to $130K, along with benefits, onsite parking, collaborative work culture, and more.
About the Role
  • Oversee daily operations of waste collection, transfer, recycling, and disposal services.
  • Manage and schedule staff, including drivers, equipment operators, and facility personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Maintain and optimize fleet and equipment operations, including preventive maintenance.
  • Respond to client inquiries, complaints, and service escalations.
  • Prepare operational reports, monitor KPIs, and recommend process improvements.
  • Assist with developing and managing budgets, control costs, and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Conduct incident investigations as needed.
  • Collaborate with Operations Manager to plan strategic initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
What you Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Environmental Science, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in waste management, recycling, or logistics.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental and safety regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and operational management software.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Must have availability for early morning start times and be able to work evenings, including shifts up to 7:00pm.
