Summary

The ideal candidate is a seasoned network security professional with a minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience in implementing and managing Fortinet solutions. They hold at least an NSE 4 certification, with NSE 5 or higher preferred, demonstrating their expertise in configuring firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security.

This individual excels in problem‑solving, communication, and client support, ensuring optimal security system performance while adhering to industry best practices. They are proactive, detail‑oriented, and skilled in both independent tasks and collaborative team environments. You must reside in NYC to qualify for position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implementation: develop and implement Fortinet security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security systems, tailored to meet client requirements.
  • Configuration and maintenance: configure and maintain Fortinet devices and services, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.
  • Security monitoring and incident response: monitor security systems, identify potential threats, and respond to security incidents promptly and effectively.
  • Client support and troubleshooting: provide technical support to clients, resolving issues related to Fortinet products and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Documentation and reporting: maintain comprehensive documentation of security configurations, changes, and incidents; generate reports on security metrics and incident responses.
  • Training and knowledge sharing: conduct training sessions for clients and internal teams on Fortinet products and best practices in network security.
  • Compliance and best practices: ensure all solutions comply with industry standards and best practices; stay up‑to‑date with the latest security trends, threats, and Fortinet product updates.
Qualifications
  • Certification: Fortinet NSE 4 (minimum). NSE 5, NSE 6, or higher certifications are highly desirable.
  • Experience: minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience in network security and Fortinet product implementation and management.
  • Technical skills: proficiency in configuring and managing Fortinet firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, and related technologies.
  • Problem‑solving: strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex security issues.
  • Communication: excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Team player: ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and with clients.
  • Education: bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
Work Environment & Location
  • Onsite role based in the NYC metro area (Manhattan, East Hanover, and client sites as needed).
  • Combination of on‑site client work and remote flexibility.
