Job description

Overview
The Foot Locker Communications team is looking for a strategic Manager, Corporate Communications to manage external corporate communications efforts and drive positive brand perception. This role requires strong writing skills and media landscape knowledge, project management, and organizational skills, while being able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and matrixed organization. The successful candidate will be a resourceful self-starter, who is adept at quickly shifting gears in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Proactively seek opportunities for positive business and trade media coverage and respond effectively to media inquiries
- Develop clear, compelling messaging to support key company priorities, announcements, and moments
- Support executive visibility programming, including securing speaking engagements, events, and briefing materials
- Support reputation management and crisis communications internally and externally, including drafting statements and managing media responses
- Monitor and analyze media coverage and industry trends to inform proactive communications strategies
- Own and evolve Foot Locker's corporate and executive LinkedIn presence, including content strategy and editorial planning
- Craft high-quality communications materials, including press releases, executive talking points, and presentations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, collaborating with external partners to amplify the company's message and initiatives
- Lead editorial calendar development and execution across corporate channels
- Evaluate and manage internal speaking engagement requests, ensuring alignment with company priorities and messaging consistency
- Own Foot Locker's industry awards strategy, including identifying opportunities, managing submissions, tracking outcomes, and promoting wins internally and externally to strengthen brand credibility and visibility
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, HR, Legal, and other teams to ensure aligned and accurate communications
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in public relations or corporate communications
- Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with a strong command of tone and messaging
- Proven experience in media relations, executive visibility, and crisis/issues management
- Experience navigating complex, fast-paced environments and managing competing priorities
- Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail
- Ability to operate independently, influence stakeholders, and drive work forward
- Experience shaping and improving challenging narratives
- Public company experience preferred

Benefits
The annual base salary range is $85,000-$110,000, this range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below.
