Job description

The Tooling Coordinator manages the inventory and lifecycle of plates, dies, and related tooling-including tracking, inspection, storage, ordering, and coordination with prepress-to ensure materials are prepared, maintained, and available for production.
Job Summary:
The Tooling Coordinator is responsible for the maintenance of the plate and die department inventory including, but not limited to, storage, retrieval, inspections, and ordering of various types of tooling.
Supervisory Responsibility
  • None

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with prepress.
  • Receives and reviews job jackets, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Retrieves and receives dies, rollers, plates, etc. for each job and places on a cart.
  • Setup, storage, and inventory of punch units.
  • Inspect condition of plates and dies and order replacements as necessary.
  • Responsible for plate & die tracking inventory, ensure plates and dies are appropriately catalogued and stored.
  • Mounts plates and maintains inventory of plate mounting supplies.
  • Inventory tooling and documentation.
  • Order tooling.
  • Package and ship tooling for resharp.
  • Maintains clean work area and storage systems.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Associates degree or equivalent preferred.
  • QAD/MFGPro system experience a plus.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. at times.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and matching or detecting differences in colors including shades of color and brightness.

Salary range: $18.00 - 24.00/hour, actual compensation will be based on experience.
