Job description

We are currently looking for a candidate to fill a role as a Maintenance Technician.

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:
Support production and quality goals by ensuring safe and reliable operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. The mechanic will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment along with basic building maintenance and repairs using diagrams, OEM manuals and engineering specification to troubleshoot and repair malfunctions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, pneumatic and mechanical failures
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment, support equipment, facilities and safety equipment
  • Comply with company personnel and safety policies while supporting "Good Manufacturing Practices"
  • Perform special projects and assignments as directed by supervisory personnel
  • Observe operation of machine and verify conformance to machine specifications
  • Fabricate, install and develop upgrades, modifications and machine changes as directed.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by the management staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ideal candidate will have a one-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have strong analytic, troubleshooting, mathematical, verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work independently and set priorities to support production requirements
  • Ideal candidates may display an aptitude for the use of the following tools
    • Shop equipment including: Hand tools, Milling, Grinding, Cutting, Hydraulic Press, Drill press
    • Support equipment including: Scissor lift, Fork Truck
    • Experience with VFD, PLC, and computer controlled equipment is desirable

Language Skills
  • Read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations with other employees of the organization
  • German language proficiency is a plus

Mathematical Skills
  • Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
  • Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

Reasoning Ability
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Computer Skills
  • Ability to access, retrieve, update and review files utilizing Microsoft Office and a CMMS program
