Summary: Manages the planning, development, and implementation of all parish outreach strategies for CCAOSA agencies and programs. Creates new engagement opportunities in the parish community and with interfaith organizations.  Supports fundraising efforts, program promotion, and volunteer engagement of the agency through the parishes. Supports the needs of leadership when engaging parishes by attending Deanery meetings, fulfilling Archdiocesan needs, and supporting the Presbyterial Council.

Requirements

Position Responsibilities: 

  • *Works with Mission Advancement leadership and staff to develop a comprehensive community marketing, communications, and public relations strategy to promote programs, events, and volunteerism to parishes and their support staff.
  • *Assist and support the Catholic Charities President/CEO and Chief Development Officer by attending Deanery meetings, Archdiocesan events, Presbyterial Council, and any other needs to foster parish relations with CCAOSA agencies and programs. 
  • *Promotes Catholic Charities programs, services, events, and campaigns throughout the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
  • *Manages parish relations by building relationships with priests and support staff, facilitating connections with program directors, and any other requirements of the parishes.
  • *Connects parish leadership to Catholic Charities programs and services based on the needs of their parishioners and community
  • *Prioritize parish support in daily work flows to build trust, confidence, and reliability of Catholic Charities mission delivery. 
  • *Creates, executes, and measures the success of parish and community outreach efforts. 
  • *Meets regularly with parish pastors, staff, ministries, committees, and commissions to learn details of the parish ministries and how Catholic Charities can give help to or get help from parishes. 
  • *Participate in the agency's Strategic Plan of rural parish outreach and support that includes, but is not limited to, creating opportunities to engage and support parish communities based on evolving needs, crisis response, and 
  • *Keeps parishes informed of resources available to parishioners through Catholic Charities. 
  • *Provides mass and faith-based support to priests celebrating mass and providing prayer/blessings on behalf of Catholic Charities. 
  • *Works with clergy and/or women religious to provide spiritual support or service opportunities to Catholic Charities programs, services, and crisis response. 
  • *Connects Catholic Charities program directors and staff with local parishes within the Archdiocese of San Antonio according to evolving needs of the 19 counties of the Archdiocese of San Antonio. 
  • *Presents Catholic Charities programs at parish events and meetings, such as weekend Masses, Parish Council meetings and other opportunities to promote the benefits of participating in the programs offered by the agency. 
  • Applies for annual placement of and management of Jesuit Volunteer, Seminarians, and Deacons. 
  • Facilitates spiritual guidance for staff and clients when requested. 
  • Creates Parish Outreach events around seven themes of Catholic Social Teaching. 
  • Completes quarterly Director, Board of Directors, and Governing Committee reports for Chief Development Officer.
  • Must complete all required professional development assigned in a timely manner.
  • Must be sensitive to the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self and others. 
  • Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
  • Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy is mandatory.
  • Every employee is required to take a solution-oriented approach in their interactions and undertakings, as well as being a team member that promotes collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned by Chief Development Officer.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree preferred. 
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 2 years' experience in mission driven outreach.
    • Minimum of 2 years of faith-based experience. 
    • Experience working alongside clergy in serving the community.
    • Experience in deadline-driven environments.
  • License and Credentials
    • Reliable transportation
    • Valid driver license
    • Valid vehicle insurance
    • Must have clean driving record

 Minimum Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Extensive working knowledge of Catholic Social teaching and parish protocols.
  • Knowledge of Catholic Mass essentials and spiritual care.
  • Experience with computer software including Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Must have good written and verbal skills.
  • Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work well independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to handle multiple assignments at once. 
  • Must be able to meet deadlines.  
  • Must possess the ability to be detail oriented, organized, and self-motivated.

Travel Requirements:


Travel requirements for the position includes 90% local and 10% overnight.
