In this pivotal role, you’ll serve as a senior technical authority across Microsoft systems, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, and VOIP—leading architecture decisions, driving infrastructure improvements, and strengthening our overall technology posture. You’ll operate as a Tier 3 escalation point, partner with cross-functional teams and franchise stakeholders, and play a key role in shaping the future of our IT environment.

Big-Picture Overview: What You'll Do as a Senior Systems Engineer:

  • Administer and optimize On-Premises Active Directory and Azure AD Connect, ensuring secure hybrid identity, SSO, and efficient replication.
  • Oversee Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams), ensuring reliable collaboration and system performance.
  • Design, implement, and support VMware virtual infrastructures and VOIP systems, focusing on scalability, resilience, and successful migrations.
  • Act as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex technical issues, driving root cause analysis, long-term solutions, and operational improvements.
  • Lead cybersecurity initiatives, including vulnerability mitigation, incident response, and system hardening.
  • Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and franchise locations to provide expert guidance, document technical procedures, and support IT project delivery.

Must-Haves for Success in This Role:

  • This will be a full-time, onsite position in Greenville, SC. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience as a Senior Systems Engineer.
  • 10–15 years as a Microsoft Systems Engineer or in a similar technical role.
  • 10+ years managing VMware virtual infrastructures and VOIP environments, including migration leadership.
  • Strong expertise in cybersecurity principles, risk mitigation, and enterprise system hardening.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and conceptual skills with the ability to influence technical decisions.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
