Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Bombers Mods & Upgrades Weapons Program Manager (Level L) to join the Bombers Program Management team supporting Bombers Modifications (Mods) & Upgrades Programs in Oklahoma City, OK!

This position will report to the Bombers Mods & Upgrades Senior Program Manager in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. We are seeking a multifaceted individual with a collaborative mindset and strategic vision to model the culture of BDS, while being deeply committed to our Air Force customers (including B-1, B-52H, B-2 and Air Launch Cruise Missile (ALCM) platforms).

In this role you will be responsible for establishing and leading a collaborative multi-disciplined functional team to ensure successful execution of our weapons integration activities for our Air Force customers. The Weapons IPT is accountable to the Senior Platform Program Manager and is composed of members from the relevant functional disciplines including, but not limited to, Engineering, Finance, Contracts, Supplier Management, and Product Support. In this role you will have assigned authority to allocate appropriate budget to lead these activities.

Strong communication and organizational skills are critical to success in this position, along with the ability to build strong relationships, collaborate in a cross-functional environment, and utilize problem-solving skills to proactively identify and manage risks and opportunities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees performing business management activities in the area of Program Management.
  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives.
  • Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Utilize Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) to help develop execution strategies effectively, efficiently, with technical surety, and the highest quality achievable in order to maintain a high customer trust environment
  • Discover new opportunities and solutions for problems and/or processes by looking beyond current practices and using innovative thinking to improve performance and synergy across functions and capabilities
  • Identification and management of Risks, Issues, and Opportunities (RIO)
  • Ensure proper coordination, tracking, and status are provided for preparation and on-time delivery of all official Boeing responses and deliverables
  • Lead the management of program budgets and estimates at complete (EAC)

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in roles which required strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to confidently perform and communicate across multiple engineering, logistics, and product support functions/roles
  • 5+ years of experience leading projects and/or teams
  • 5+ years of experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • 5+ years of experience with the RIO (Risks, Issues and Opportunities) processes and tools
  • Experience analyzing and applying metrics to enable key business decisions and process improvement

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • Experience working with B-1, B-52, B-2, ALCM or a military aircraft platform
  • Experience navigating the Enterprise Standard Gated Process (EGSP)
  • Experience working directly with customers, with a focus on military customers
  • Understanding and application of RIO management along with use of the Boeing Opportunity Risk and Issue System (BORIS) tool
  • Experience working with support functions such as Engineering, Supplier Management, Finance, Integrated Scheduling, and Contracts
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate data in senior leadership briefings
  • Basic Earned Value Management (EVM) training and awareness
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products and other Boeing tools including Interactive Reporting Environment (IRE), Configuration Management Professional (CMPRO), Common Automated Procurement Request System (CAPRS), and Customer and Supplier Data Transmittal (CSDT)
  • Certifications in PMP, Six Sigma, Scaled Agile SM/RTE or equivalent
  • Active Secret Clearance is preferred
