Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers, creating a welcoming experience from the moment they arrive
  • Share your knowledge of our products and educate customers on healthy eating
  • Guide customers to the right products and make thoughtful suggestions
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell complementary items
  • Stay current on our full product offering and any new arrivals
  • Process point-of-sale transactions accurately and efficiently

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in nutrition, hospitality, business, or a related field is a plus
  • 1–2 years of previous retail, specialty food, or customer-facing experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and articulate detailed product knowledge, including ingredients, sourcing, and health benefits
  • Strong verbal communication and active listening skills, with the ability to engage diverse customers confidently
  • Basic math proficiency for handling transactions, making change, and processing returns accurately
  • Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems; ability to quickly learn new retail software
  • Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage follow-up tasks
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs, and perform light stocking or merchandising duties
  • Strong self-initiative with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team with minimal supervision
  • Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with a premium specialty food brand
  • Food handler's certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain upon hire)

Availability & Transportation This is a part-time position requiring a minimum availability of 25 hours per week, including regular weekend shifts. Candidates must be able to accommodate the flexible scheduling needs of the business, including evenings, holidays, and peak retail periods. Consistent availability and reliability are essential to this role. Reliable personal transportation is required, as public transit may not align with all scheduled shift times.
