Position Overview
The Production Manager, Beauty & Wellness serves as a key operational partner to the Senior Manager, Production, supporting day-to-day production execution across the Beauty & Wellness portfolio while helping operationalize broader production strategies and business initiatives. This role is responsible for managing production workflows, vendor execution, supply continuity, and cross-functional coordination to support operational readiness across domestic and international markets.

Operating at the intersection of Planning, Product Development, Product Integrity, Logistics, and external manufacturing partners, this role requires a highly organized and solutions-oriented leader who can proactively manage risk, navigate ambiguity, and drive execution with strong business judgment and effective communication. The ideal candidate brings experience supporting global launches and international distribution readiness, while balancing speed, quality, cost, and operational scalability within a fast-paced consumer products environment.

Production Strategy & Execution

  • Partner closely with the Senior Manager, Production to support execution of production strategies and key business priorities across the Beauty & Wellness portfolio
  • Manage day-to-day production execution across contract manufacturers, ensuring alignment to launch timelines, inventory objectives, and business priorities
  • Translate business demand and planning inputs into actionable production plans, balancing capacity, lead times, service levels, and operational constraints
  • Support production readiness and execution for new launches, reformulations, rebrands, retailer expansions, and global market initiatives
  • Ensure operational continuity across core business, replenishment, promotional, and launch-related production activities

Global Expansion & International Distribution

  • Support production execution and operational readiness for international launches across domestic and emerging global markets
  • Coordinate regional requirements related to packaging, labeling, testing, compliance, and launch timing in partnership with Regulatory, Logistics, and Product Integrity teams
  • Partner cross-functionally to support international inventory flow, distributor readiness, and cross-border shipment execution
  • Coordinate production timelines and supply continuity across multi-region launches, ensuring alignment to market-specific requirements and go-live milestones
  • Support onboarding and operational integration of new manufacturing and distribution partners to enable scalable global growth

Integrated Planning & Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Partner closely with Planning team to support monthly demand-to-supply alignment, translating receipt recommendations into executable production plans across the manufacturing network
  • Collaborate directly with external manufacturers to assess lead times, capacity constraints, component readiness, and operational feasibility, ensuring production plans are grounded in real-time supply chain conditions
  • Align finalized production plans, timing adjustments, and identified risks back to Planning teams to support inventory, service level, and business objectives
  • Collaborate closely with Product Development, Product Integrity, Logistics, Regulatory, and Finance to ensure production readiness and executional alignment
  • Proactively surface risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs with clear recommendations to support timely business decisions

Vendor Management & Network Performance

  • Own day-to-day relationships with contract manufacturers, driving accountability across production timelines, quality, responsiveness, and execution
  • Lead production conversations with confidence and professionalism, effectively managing prioritization, tradeoffs, and shifting business needs
  • Negotiate production timelines and order prioritization in alignment with inventory and business objectives
  • Monitor vendor performance and proactively identify risks, constraints, or escalation points impacting service or launch readiness
  • Maintain strong manufacturing partnerships while balancing urgency, accountability, and long-term operational effectiveness
  • Support inventory strategies across Web, Retail, Wholesale, and International channels, including launch readiness and Minimum Presentation Quantity requirements

Costing & Financial Visibility

  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of COGS, including turnkey manufacturing costs, freight, duties, and landed cost components
  • Review production costing and shipping assumptions to help identify risks, variances, or opportunities that may impact margin or inventory decisions
  • Partner cross-functionally with Planning, Logistics, Finance, and external manufacturers to support accurate landed cost visibility and operational decision-making

Operational Excellence & Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve production processes, reporting visibility, operational scalability, and cross-functional workflows
  • Lead implementation of process improvements with clear ownership, timelines, accountability, and measurable outcomes
  • Maintain accurate production reporting, WIP tracking, Purchase Orders, and operational documentation in alignment with Production standards and calendar cadences
  • Ensure production data integrity and visibility across systems, trackers, and planning tools
  • Drive disciplined execution, escalation management, and operational follow-through across all assigned workstreams

Leadership & Communication

  • Serve as a trusted operational extension of the Senior Manager, Production, reinforcing Production priorities, communication standards, and executional accountability across the organization
  • Demonstrate strong ownership, sound judgment, and leadership presence across cross-functional initiatives and high-priority business needs
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with internal stakeholders, executive leadership, and external manufacturing partners
  • Lead through influence in fast-paced or ambiguous situations, aligning stakeholders and driving solutions without direct authority
  • Support onboarding, development, and mentorship of junior team members as the Production organization scales
  • Model operational excellence, professionalism, accountability, and a solutions-oriented mindset across all aspects of the role

Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years of experience in production, supply chain, sourcing, or operations within beauty, wellness, CPG, or other regulated consumer product categories
  • Demonstrated experience managing day-to-day production execution across external manufacturing partners, including scheduling, capacity planning, issue resolution, and launch execution
  • Experience supporting global launches and international distribution across multiple markets required
