Senior Counsel - Marketing and Communications Legal

Description

Apple is seeking a highly skilled and experienced attorney to join our team as a Senior Counsel in the Marketing and Communications Legal Group. In this role, you will serve as both product counsel and marketing legal counsel for Apple’s Enterprise, Education, and Environmental Marketing portfolios. On the product side, you will advise business teams on new product and feature development, providing strategic input on program architecture, partner frameworks, and how new offerings should be structured. On the marketing side, you will review and advise on marketing claims, advertising copy, and promotional materials across all media. You will also lead the marketing claims legal practice for Apple’s environmental advertising, including substantiation review, regulatory compliance counseling, and coordination with outside counsel on enforcement matters.Successful candidates will embrace the challenge of advising across multiple business channels with distinct regulatory environments and will demonstrate the ability to function as both a strategic product advisor and a marketing legal counselor simultaneously.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience practicing law at a technology company, in-house legal department, and/or law firm.
  • Significant experience with marketing and advertising legal issues, including claim substantiation, consumer protection, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience advising on product development or commercial program structuring in addition to marketing legal review.
  • JD degree or equivalent and admission to at least one US state bar.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with environmental marketing regulations, including EU anti-greenwashing directives, energy labeling requirements, and sustainability claim substantiation.
  • Familiarity with legal frameworks governing marketing to and through educational institutions, including online safety laws and data protection requirements applicable to education technology.
  • Experience advising enterprise sales and partner programs, including partner qualification frameworks and commercial program structures.
  • Strong understanding of international marketing law and experience advising on cross-border campaigns across the EU, UK, Australia, and other major markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to advise a variety of client teams driven by a diverse set of business objectives.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills, coupled with the ability to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
  • Comfort handling multiple projects on competing timelines across unrelated business channels.
  • Passion for building strong relationships with your clients and with the broader Apple Legal Group.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $223,400 and $335,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
