Job Summary
Langan is seeking an Environmental Data Analyst to join its collaborative team in New York City. This individual will serve a key function in providing technical support to field sampling teams, the collection of and configuration of large datasets and the development of and utilization of data validation tools to identify quality issues. In this role, you will have the opportunity to partner cross-functionally as part of a growing national team.
Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with organizing, reviewing, and managing environmental analytical and field data for investigation and remediation projects;
  • Support the preparation of tables, figures, and summaries for technical reports, client deliverables, and regulatory submissions;
  • Work with enterprise databases and tools such as EarthSoft EQuIS, Excel, and Power BI to identify and resolve data quality issues;
  • Coordinate with project teams, laboratories, data validators, and GIS staff to ensure complete and accurate datasets;
  • Track and apply regulatory criteria and environmental standards (state and federal) under guidance of senior staff;
  • Participate in the development and improvement of data management workflows and internal tools;
  • Maintain strong attention to detail while learning industry best practices for environmental data QA/QC;

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, data science, computer science, or a related field;
  • 0-3 years of experience in environmental data management, environmental consulting, or a related analytical role;
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; exposure to databases or data tools (EQuIS, SQL, Power BI) is a plus; and,
  • Familiarity with environmental sampling data, laboratory deliverables, or regulatory reporting is a plus.

Certain US jurisdictions require Langan to include an estimate of salary or hourly ranges. The estimated range for this role is: $65,000 - $88,500. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm. Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time and 10 paid holidays throughout the year. Eligibility and actual paid time off may vary based on local law and factors such as hours worked, related work experience and level.
