Job description

Klugh Automotive Performance, LLC dba KAP Motorsports is seeking a full-time Auto Repair Technician to deliver high-quality automotive service in Palmetto, FL.

Position Summary

The Auto Repair Technician will diagnose vehicle issues, perform accurate repairs and maintenance, and ensure work is completed to a high standard of quality and safety. This role is onsite in Palmetto, FL and is ideal for a hands-on technician who takes pride in efficient problem-solving and reliable service.

In this position, you will work on a variety of automotive systems, communicate findings clearly, and help maintain a consistent, customer-focused repair experience. This position may involve working on custom or modified vehicles and will require creative thinking outside the typical diagnostic box. This is not an entry level position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose drivability and mechanical problems using standard inspection and diagnostic processes on a wide range of makes, models and modifications

  • Communicate with Service Advisor(s) on best course of action to resolve customer concerns

  • Perform vehicle repairs and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and best practices

  • Conduct inspections, verify completed repairs, and test vehicles to confirm proper operation

  • Maintain accurate service documentation, including work performed and findings from diagnostics

  • Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are used safely and kept in good working condition

Required Qualifications
  • Proven experience performing automotive repair and maintenance work

  • Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to interpret vehicle symptoms accurately

  • Solid knowledge of automotive systems, including mechanical components and common repair procedures

  • Ability to work safely in a shop environment, including performing hands-on mechanical tasks

  • Commitment to quality workmanship, time management, and reliable attendance

  • Valid US Driving License with clean record

  • Currently working as an automotive technician in an OEM or independent setting

  • You must have your own hand tools. Shop air, heavy equipment (hoists, jacks, etc) and factory level diagnostic software access is provided

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a performance or high-service environment

  • Familiarity with troubleshooting electrical and advanced vehicle systems

  • Demonstrated ability to follow diagnostic flow and communicate repair recommendations clearly

  • Experience keeping detailed service records and maintaining shop productivity standards

  • Ability to work on a wide range of makes/models in an independent repair facility

  • Experience with aftermarket/high performance vehicle modifications

  • ASE A1-A8 Certifications

  • EPA 609 Certification

Compensation

Hybrid Pay Plan

Annual base salary: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00
