Job description

Job Summary:
Yokogawa is a leading provider of industrial automation and services, dedicated to supporting the energy transition and sustainable development goals. The Emerging Solutions Engineering Manager will lead engineering resources and processes, focusing on mentorship and optimization to enhance technical efficiency and effectiveness within the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Integrated Solutions Leadership: Lead the design of repeatable application packages that combine Yokogawa products (e.g., Sushi Sensors, DTSX) with 3rd-party components to provide full turnkey solutions.
• Proof of Concept (PoC) Management: Own the PoC lifecycle from start to finish, ensuring new technologies are proven with customers to generate high-value sales opportunities.
• Team Mentorship: Actively mentor engineers in both technical subject matter expertise and professional career growth.
• Process Optimization: Develop, maintain, and enforce uniform project management standards and internal work processes to ensure uncompromising quality.
• Strategic Capacity Management: Maintain engineering dashboards and project lists to manage resource capacity, strategically accepting or declining projects based on fit with Yokogawa goals.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work in partnership with Product Management (Process Controllers, PLCs, Data Acquisition) and Business Development to deliver annual business targets.
• Technical Integration: Oversee the integration of Yokogawa solutions into customer systems, including DCS and cloud environments.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a similar technical discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
• 7+ years of successful engineering design, plant engineering, or consultancy experience
• Previous engineering management experience
• Demonstrated project management skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Excellent communication skills
Preferred:
• Deep familiarity with Yokogawa’s internal engineering workflows, project management tools, and inter-departmental processes
• Direct experience with DTSX (Distributed Temperature Sensing) and Asset Management/Monitoring (Sushi Sensors)
• Familiar with CAD drawings, building UL508 panels, and factory acceptance testing
