JOB DESCRIPTION

Southern Yacht Club is seeking a skilled and passionate Experienced Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety. This role involves preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.


Duties

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
  • Maintain proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures in compliance with safety regulations
  • Execute meal preparation efficiently during service hours, ensuring timely delivery of dishes
  • Support kitchen operations by organizing ingredients, utensils, and equipment for smooth workflow
  • Collaborate with chef to ensure high standards of food quality and presentation
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and kitchen areas throughout shifts
  • Adhere to all food safety guidelines and health regulations at all times

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a line cook or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or food service environment
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, knife skills, and cooking methods
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper handling procedures

With over 1600 members, SYC serves members in the 1849 Bar Tuesday - Sunday, a la carte lunch & dinner in main dining Wednesday - Saturday, and a brunch on Sunday. During the summer months a Tiki Bar & Grill serve members at the pool Tuesday - Sunday. SYC also hosts member holiday functions and banquets of various types & sizes from small dinners and parties to wedding receptions for 500.
