Key responsibilities

  • Architect and lead the technical strategy for the corporate back-office ecosystem, ensuring system scalability, data integrity, and alignment with end-to-end data flows.

  • Design, code, and deploy robust, reusable application integrations and services using integration tools such as Workato to connect and automate disparate systems.

  • Champion and implement AI-driven automation within corporate systems to strengthen operating controls and eliminate manual bottlenecks.

Job description

We are looking for a Principal Enterprise Applications Architect to serve as a strategic technical leader for our corporate back-office ecosystem and spearhead large-scale application and business process transformation. In this role, you will align business strategies with enterprise technical architecture across our Finance, HR, and Legal domains, reimagining end-to-end workflows to ensure a seamless, automated flow of information from upstream Go-To-Market (GTM) systems.

We need a hands-on, deeply technical visionary who can architect complex cross-platform integrations and system workflows across a modern, best-of-breed enterprise application stack. You will engineer scalable, enterprise-grade integration services using modern iPaaS frameworks, lead comprehensive process modernization efforts to eliminate operational friction, and actively accelerate business velocity by introducing AI-driven automation into our day-to-day operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect the Back Office: Serve as a technical authority for our core back-office ecosystem, including Workday, NetSuite, Zuora, Zip, Xactly, and Ironclad and other applications to ensure system scalability, data integrity, and tight alignment with end-to-end data flows.

  • Build the Bridges: Design, code, and deploy robust, reusable application integrations and services using Workato or similar integration tooling to connect disparate boundary systems into a unified, automated engine.

  • Drive AI Transformation: Champion the practical application of AI within our corporate systems. You will lead the charge in deploying AI/LLM connectors and workflow automation to strengthen operating controls and eliminate manual bottlenecks.

  • Translate & Execute: Partner closely with executive business stakeholders across Finance, HR, Legal, and GTM to translate strategic business capabilities into bulletproof technical requirements and end-to-end system design specifications.

  • Drive Process & Integration Simplification: Optimize the end-to-end back-office data lifecycle to reduce architectural complexity and maximize efficiency. Streamline integrations so data flows seamlessly from upstream GTM platforms through legal compliance, the Hire-to-Retire lifecycle, and into core billing and financial systems, eliminating operational friction and manual overhead.

  • Mentor and Lead: Act as a technical mentor to business systems analysts and engineers, setting the gold standard for clean architecture, integration best practices, and innovative problem-solving.

What We’re Looking For

  • The Experience: 15+ years of progressive technical experience in enterprise applications engineering, with a heavy emphasis on core corporate back-office systems.

  • Cross-Domain Technical Leadership: Proven, hands-on technical architecture and engineering experience across Workday, coupled with deep experience integrating and extending robust finance, procurement, and legal systems (e.g. NetSuite, Zuora, Zip, Xactly, and Ironclad). You bring a holistic, company-wide technical perspective rather than a siloed application specialization.

  • Technical Design & Execution: A proven track record of writing detailed technical specifications, designing robust error-handling frameworks, and executing complex software rollouts across multi-dimensional teams.

  • Integration Mastery: Deep expertise in enterprise integration patterns and extensive hands-on experience building complex workflows using Workato (or similar enterprise iPaaS platforms), complemented by strong scripting / coding skills.

  • Compliance & Governance: Strong understanding of SOX compliance, IT General Controls (ITGCs), and segregation of duties (SoD). Proven ability to architect, enforce, and embed highly effective, automated technical controls directly into application designs and integration pipelines to ensure audit-readiness without introducing unnecessary operational friction.

  • AI Practicality: Early but proven proficiency in applying AI within the business applications space. You can demonstrate how you’ve leveraged generative AI, LLM frameworks, or intelligent automation tools to solve real-world corporate workflow challenges.

  • Domain & GTM Awareness: Deep functional understanding of Finance, HR, and Legal business processes, combined with a strong working knowledge of how these systems interface with upstream GTM platforms (e.g. Salesforce).

  • Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills with the unique ability to dive deep into technical code with engineers, and then pivot to present a high-level strategic roadmap to business stakeholders.
