Job Summary:

The employee assigned to Election Worker 1 performs a variety of basic tasks associated with the election process. These tasks vary in time commitment and skill level. Training for tasks is provided and supervisors are available to advise or assist as necessary. Election Worker 1 employees may be assigned duties of a higher class for training purposes.

Duties include but are not limited to:
  • receiving and processing mail ballot envelopes
  • counting and opening envelopes
  • reviewing ballots
  • following and completing procedural paperwork
  • night driving for picking up ballots from a drop box
  • Completion of a Driver Improvement Training course and specific auto insurance limits
  • perform other related duties as required
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Any combination of training and experience which demonstrates knowledge and abilities for the job described.

LICENSE:A valid driver's license and ability to drive at night may be required for certain tasks.
