Job description

WHO WE ARE:

This position is located at 101 E. 15th St, Austin, Texas in the Training & Development Department.

WHO YOU ARE:
A creative, professional trainer with experience delivering training to an adult audience. You would be excited to join the Software and Workforce Training team, which specializes in delivering software training on Microsoft applications, other software, and CPR. You would be happy to support our department mission: "To help TWC and our partners enhance employee workplace skills and productivity through the delivery, development, and coordination of quality learning opportunities," and you would be proud to work for a great state agency with a noble public service mission.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Software Workforce Training Specialist III performs complex (journey-level) training work. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:
-Follow management directives meticulously, actively seeking leadership and guidance from managers in training delivery and project execution, and proactively communicate progress to ensure accountability.
-Coordinate, prepare and present classes, train the trainer workshops, project meetings demonstrations, and conferences in the most effective manner for employees, service providers, and board staff.
-Assist in the coordination, research, design, and development of formal complex curricula that require extensive collaboration with high-level administrators and program specialists using approved guidelines and processes. 
-Manage multiple projects using formal project management methodology and tools.
-Prepare accurate documents, including correspondence, proposals, briefings, reports, training materials, and project timelines.
-Build and maintain communication and working relationships with Administrative and Program staff, community, and co-workers to accomplish the department's goals and objectives.
-Work on special projects assigned to meet department goals and objectives.
-Deliver a wide variety of technical training to diverse audiences by translating complex content into basic concepts.
-Perform other duties as assigned.

YOU QUALIFY WITH:
- Two years of experience in positions that provided knowledge of training methods, techniques, and materials as related to individual development, education, and training programs; or in positions that provided knowledge of agency operation or programs which included giving group presentations.
- Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
- One year of full-time in-service TWC experience classified as a Training Specialist II with regular status will satisfy the minimum qualifications.

-Experience teaching software and technical classes.
-Experience in developing curricula.
-Experience with current in-person, hybrid, and virtual training.
