Location: Midland, MI
Facility: MyMichigan Health โ€“ Midland
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Start Date: August 24, 2026
Work Setting
Operating Room
324-bed Level II Trauma Center
Epic EMR (please note experience if applicable)
Schedule
Shift: Days
Hours: 6:30 AM โ€“ 7:00 PM
36-hour guarantee
Every 4th weekend
On-call: Once per week
Job Summary
Work as a Surgical Technologist II in a busy operating room, assisting surgeons through all phases of surgical procedures. Maintain the sterile field, prepare surgical instruments and supplies, anticipate surgeon needs, and ensure patient safety throughout each case.
Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain sterile instruments and surgical equipment.
Set up the operating room for scheduled procedures.
Anticipate surgeon needs during surgery.
Maintain and monitor the sterile field.
Perform accurate counts of instruments, sharps, and surgical supplies.
Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent procedures.
Ensure all equipment is functioning properly before procedures begin.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of Certified Surgical Technologist experience
Current NBSTSA Certification
Current AHA BLS Certification
Current CST skills checklist (within 1 year)
Two supervisory references completed within the last 2 years
Preferred Qualifications
Recent travel experience
Epic EMR experience
Experience in a Level II Trauma Center
