Manager - Workday Reporting & Analytics

Reports To: Director - TA Operations

At Family Dollar, our people are the heart of everything we do. As we continue to grow across more than 7,000 retail locations, distribution centers, and our Store Support Center, the need for accurate, timely, and actionable people data has never been greater.

We are seeking a highly skilled Manager - Workday Reporting & Analytics to serve as the hands-on owner of Workday reporting and people analytics for the enterprise. This role is ideal for a Workday reporting expert who enjoys turning complex data into meaningful insights that inform workforce and hiring decisions at scale.

About the Role

As the Manager - Workday Reporting & Analytics, you will design, build, and maintain scalable people reporting solutions using Workday. You'll partner closely with HR, Talent Acquisition, Operations, Finance, Legal, and other business leaders to deliver trusted insights that support workforce planning, recruiting strategy, and operational decision-making in a fast-paced retail environment.

  • You will act as the organization's Workday reporting subject matter expert, balancing technical depth with strong business acumen and storytelling skills.
  • This role requires a consultative mindset - you make recommendations, not just deliver reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end people reporting and dashboard development across HR and Talent Acquisition, including metrics related to hiring, turnover, engagement, and workforce trends
  • Build and maintain Workday reports using Report Writer, Advanced Reports, dashboards, and calculated fields
  • Partner with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, and Operations leaders to define KPIs, identify trends, and uncover actionable insights
  • Translate complex people data into clear, compelling insights for leaders through visualizations and executive-ready presentations
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance across Workday reporting and analytics
  • Leverage historical trends and advanced analytical techniques to inform workforce planning, hiring demand, and retention insights
  • Support ad hoc analytics requests with a focus on business impact, clarity, and scalability
  • Collaborate with downstream reporting or visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) as needed to extend Workday insights
What You'll Bring
  • Minimum 5-7+ years of experience required in people analytics, HR reporting, and/or business intelligence, with a strong preference for retail or multi-location environments
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience with Workday Report Writer required with experience with Workday Prism Analytics preferred
  • Deep understanding of HR and Talent Acquisition metrics, reporting structures, and operational analytics
  • Solid working knowledge of Workday security roles and how they impact reporting and data access
  • Strong storytelling, dashboard design, and executive communication skills
  • Technical proficiency with Excel and reporting/visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
