Job description

Job Title: Talent Acquisition & Workforce Development Manager

Reports To: Chief Human Resources Officer

Position Overview:

Under the Direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), the Talent Acquisition & Workforce Development Manager leads full-cycle recruitment while advancing a comprehensive workforce development strategy that supports Boston MedFlightโ€™s mission, operational excellence, and long-term sustainability. This role partners closely with leadership to attract, develop, engage, and retain a high-performing workforce across clinical, aviation, and non-clinical teams. The position blends strategic recruitment expertise with workforce planning, onboarding, performance management, engagement, and retention initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities:

A. Talent Acquisition & Recruitment

โ€ขLead full-cycle recruitment for clinical, aviation, and non-clinical roles across the organization.

โ€ขPartner with department leaders to understand hiring needs, role requirements, operational demands, and workforce plans.

โ€ขDevelop and maintain pipelines of active and passive candidates using applicant tracking systems (ADP), job boards, social media, referrals, and professional networks.

โ€ขDraft, update, and publish job descriptions and postings that reflect organizational needs, regulatory requirements, and union agreements where applicable.

โ€ขConduct candidate screening, interviews, reference checks, and coordination of selection processes.

โ€ขTrack recruitment metrics, analyze trends, and prepare reports for leadership to support decision-making.

โ€ขConduct salary market analyses and provide recommendations to the CHRO to support compensation planning.

โ€ขCreate and maintain recruitment marketing materials and employment branding initiatives.

โ€ขRepresent Boston MedFlight at job fairs, conferences, and industry networking events as needed.

B. Workforce Planning & Development

โ€ขPartner with the CHRO and leadership to align hiring strategies with long-term workforce planning and organizational goals.

โ€ขSupport workforce development initiatives that build internal talent pipelines and leadership capability.

โ€ขAnalyze workforce data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities related to staffing, retention, and development.

โ€ขCollaborate with leaders to support succession planning and career pathway development.

C. Onboarding & Integration

โ€ขOversee onboarding programs to ensure new hires experience a smooth transition into the organization.

โ€ขEnsure onboarding reinforces Boston MedFlightโ€™s mission, values, culture, compliance, and safety requirements.

โ€ขPartner with managers to support effective integration of new employees into operational teams.

D. Performance Management

โ€ขManage performance evaluation process with support from HR Associate.

โ€ขIn coordination with CHRO, develop electronic performance evaluation platform and train managers in utilization to replace current system.

โ€ขManage ongoing performance review cycles, goal-setting processes, and related timelines.

โ€ขTrain and support managers to deliver fair, consistent, and compliant performance evaluations.

โ€ขCollaborate with HR leadership on performance improvement strategies and talent development planning.

โ€ขCoordinate leadership trainings and mandatory (non-clinical) trainings for staff for professional development.

E. Engagement & Retention

โ€ขSupport employee engagement initiatives aimed at improving retention, morale, and organizational effectiveness.

โ€ขAnalyze engagement and retention data to recommend and implement improvement strategies.

โ€ขSupport initiatives that strengthen leadership effectiveness, employee connection to mission, and workplace culture.

F. Supervisory oversight

โ€ขShared Supervision of the HR Associate with the HR Operations Manager to facilitate the

onboarding and performance evaluation process.

Qualifications:

โ€ขBachelorโ€™s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business or a related field.

โ€ขMinimum of 3+ years of experience in recruitment; broader HR or workforce development experience strongly preferred.

โ€ขDemonstrated expertise in sourcing strategies, candidate assessment, interviewing, and recruitment technology.

โ€ขExperience with applicant tracking systems (ADP preferred), job boards, and recruitment marketing tools.

โ€ขFamiliarity with healthcare or mission-driven nonprofit environments is a plus.

โ€ขStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

โ€ขAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.

โ€ขHigh degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.

โ€ขProficiency with social media platforms for recruitment and employer branding.

โ€ขFluency in English (read, write, speak, comprehend).

โ€ขPredictable weekday availability required; hybrid schedule (on-site and remote).

โ€ขAbility to travel locally as needed; may require occasional travel for conference recruiting
