Marlborough, MA | $90,000–$120,000 Base + Benefits

A growing, multi-location organization is seeking a Training & Development Manager to lead training, onboarding, and employee development across a large field-based operation.

This is a highly visible leadership role for someone who enjoys being close to the business — leading Regional Trainers, improving frontline performance, strengthening development programs, and partnering directly with Operations Leadership across multiple markets.

The position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and combines strategic program ownership with hands‑on field execution.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Regional Trainers
  • Oversee training, onboarding, and certification programs across multiple locations
  • Partner with Regional and Area Managers to identify performance gaps and implement training solutions
  • Conduct field visits to evaluate training effectiveness and operational consistency
  • Support new location openings, company initiatives, and operational rollouts
  • Build employee development programs and strengthen internal talent pipelines
  • Track training effectiveness, certification compliance, onboarding results, and development metrics
  • Provide recommendations and updates to executive leadership
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in training, learning & development, employee development, or operational leadership
  • Experience directly leading Trainers or employee‑development teams
  • Experience supporting a multi‑location or field‑based workforce
  • Strong background in onboarding, training delivery, coaching, and employee development
  • Retail, automotive, consumer services, hospitality, restaurant, or similar multi‑unit operations experience preferred
  • Strong presentation, communication, organization, and program‑management skills
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the operating region, including overnight travel
  • Valid driver’s license
Why This Opportunity
  • Direct visibility and partnership with the COO and Operations Leadership
  • Ownership of training and development across a large multi‑location organization
  • Opportunity to directly influence employee performance, advancement, and retention
  • Leadership responsibility for an established Regional Trainer team
  • Combination of strategic L&D ownership and hands‑on operational impact
  • Growing organization with significant opportunity to build and improve programs
