Job description

The Position:

We are looking for an experienced Craft Training Coordinator with a wide variety of abilities that complements ISC’s culture of integrity. This position will be responsible for the Beaumont and Houston offices. The associate performs a variety of support activities specific to the training function including the development of training materials and delivery of applicable programs. Activities include compiling standardized reports and analyses; providing input to training material development; assist in coordinating course offerings. Provides day-to-day professional and administrative functions in support of training efforts. Associate must be proficient in excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail. Act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Applicants should have the ability to:

  • Teach classes in both a classroom setting and a jobsite environment.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with ISC’s Site Management and Leadership.
  • Assist associates with placement in their related craft field.
  • Stay up to date with industry standards
  • Create and deliver courses that are in line with ISC’s Workforce Development program
  • Organize and develop, or obtain, training procedure manuals and guides and course materials such as handouts and visual materials
  • Monitor and track students’ progress
  • Work closely with Human Resources in proctoring NCCER testing, Apprenticeship testing, and OQ or Operator Qualification testing. Provide statistical information on associate’s progress.
  • Attend Career Fairs, Trade School Expos, and work with the local ABC Chapters.
  • Assists in the coordination of course offerings with those of outside vendors/institutions consistent with ISC’s Workforce Development program
  • Answer general questions and inquiries in support of training efforts.
  • Works under general supervision.
  • Attend meetings and seminars, when needed, to obtain information for use in training programs, or to inform management of training program status.

Qualifications:

  • Typically has 6+ years’ experience at a supervisory level or higher in the Industrial Construction and/or Maintenance Background; preferably, Industrial Electrical and Instrumentation.
  • Passion for teaching and workforce development
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Confident demonstrator; Strong verbal and written communication and technical translation.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point).
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Integrity in dealings with associates and clients.
  • Proficient knowledge of all departmental procedures and how they interrelate.
  • Ability to manage own work schedule.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong mindset especially in the areas of being a team player, dependable, attendance, willingness to work overtime, presentable dress and appearance, willingness to listen and learn, attention to detail, can-do attitude, sense of urgency and energy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with understanding of meeting deadlines.
