CENTRAL FINANCIAL AID OFFICE PROCESSOR - FULL TIME - WEEKDAYS

Schedule: Monday-Friday 3 days @ 8:30-5:00 pm and 2 afternoons @ 11:30-8 pm

We are looking for a Full Time Central Financial Aid Office(CFAO) Processor who will work under the direction of the Assistant Director of Financial Aid. The CFAO Processor is responsible for efficiently and professionally guiding prospective students through the financial aid process. This process will include creating and maintaining detailed and accurate records, working closely with Admissions to ensure quality customer service in the process of admitting students, and providing a positive student experience.
Student Financial Aid Processing
  • Explain financial aid sources in detail to ensure each student's full understanding of his/her overall rights and responsibilities (Title IV grants and loans, Ross Education Payment Plan, etc.)
  • Assist students with the accurate completion of all financial aid application forms. Assist students in creating a financial aid package which takes into account the tuition amount owed
  • Demonstrate a positive customer service approach
  • Develop good working relationships with Admissions and other Financial Aid teammates, such as Quality Control or Specialists
  • Participate and contribute with your teammates on the CFAO shift with you to accomplish the goals for the day while providing Go The Extra Inch service to our students

Record Keeping and Data Maintenance
  • Maintain a complete and accurate financial aid file of all students receiving financial aid. Conduct file reviews and electronically maintain the FA file
  • Review and print National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) financial aid history information
  • Process all financial aid forms and/or applications including items such as: student loan applications, FAFSA applications (via Anthology/CampusVue software) and others
  • Complete all appointment process items including NSLDS, FAFSA, student loan borrowing requirements, FERPA and valid ID

Compliance
  • Follow Ross Guidelines and employee handbook
  • Adhere to all Ross Policies and Procedures
  • Participate in audits as needed
  • Attend periodic Financial Aid meetings and/or training sessions as requested

Administrative Duties
  • Perform general financial aid duties such as scheduling appointments, interviews, updating files and answering calls
  • Audit the daily calendar
  • Review daily reports for outstanding items and closing out those items
  • Review other reports as requested

Requirements
  • High school or GED completion and 1+ years' work experience in basic accounting, banking, office administration or related work - degree preferred
  • Ability to work at least 2 evenings per week
  • Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and professionally across different platforms such as chat, email, phone, and video
  • Strong math and financial recordkeeping skills
  • Background check required for employment, including credit check
  • Employees must be in good standing in their own federal student loan repayment plans
  • Good organizational skills
  • Computer skills including MS Office, Internet and e-mail
  • Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in written form
  • Comfortable discussing financial matters with students
