Position Purpose: The Premium Coordinator supports accurate and compliant administration of stop-loss premium activity within the iiSi division. This position is responsible for premium application processing, payment reconciliation, and cross-functional coordination - serving as a critical link between financial operations and client-facing partners including TPAs, producers, and underwriting teams.

Logistics: iiSi, Division of Companion Life Insurance Company is one of BlueCross BlueShield's South Carolina subsidiary companies.

Location: This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), Monday through Friday, during standard business hours (8:00 AM-5:00 PM PST or EST, depending on the candidate's location). The role is remote; candidates are preferred to be based near San Francisco, CA, or Fort Wayne, IN office.

Sponsorship: This position is not eligible for sponsorship now or in the future.

What You'll Do:

  • Executes premium application workflows with accuracy and adherence to established processes.

  • Reconciles policy terms against payments received; document and resolve variances.

  • Serves as a coordination point for premium-related inquiries from TPAs, producers, and internal teams.

  • Processes payments including paper check disbursements; maintain thorough payment tracking records.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

To Qualify for This Position, You'll Need the Following:

Required Education:Bachelor's in a job-related field

Degree Equivalency: 4 years job-related work experience or Associate's and 2 years job related work experience

Required Work Experience:

  • 3 years in accounting, auditing, billing, claims, membership, or finance.

  • 2-3 years of experience in insurance operations, premium billing, accounts receivable, or a related financial or administrative role.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to compile information, perform research and analyze data

  • Strong customer service and organizational skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to take initiative and meet deadlines

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to identify and escalate cash and allocation anomalies

  • Document management and audit trail discipline

  • Process adherence in high-volume transactional environments

  • Basic Excel skills

Required Software and Other Tools: Microsoft Office

We Prefer That You Have the Following:

  • Experience within a self-funded insurance programs

  • Experience in stop-loss insurance operations

  • Familiarity with premium application workflows

  • Familiarity with insurance policy terms

  • Prior experience in stop-loss insurance
