Description
The Quality Specialist ensures products and processes meet company quality standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. This hands-on role supports quality assurance activities through inspections, audits, root cause analysis, documentation control, employee training, and continuous improvement initiatives while partnering closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Customer Service teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform product and process inspections to ensure quality compliance.
  • Collect, analyze, and report quality data and trends.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and support corrective actions.
  • Assist with audits, ISO/AS9100 compliance activities, and quality documentation.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and standard work instructions.
  • Train employees on quality standards and processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce defects, improve compliance, and enhance product quality.

Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, quality assurance, quality engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with quality tools, inspection methods, and manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with document control systems and quality records.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tracking and analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team-oriented environment.

Preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or similar certification.
  • Experience in ISO and/or AS9100 quality systems.
  • Demonstrated success in reducing defects, rework, and quality-related issues.

Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to production noise, moving equipment, varying temperatures, and other manufacturing-related conditions.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15%.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally, including lifting from floor to waist and waist to shoulder.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, crawling, stooping, and reaching to inspect equipment and work areas.
  • Ability to climb ladders multiple times throughout the day and maintain three points of contact while working from a ladder.
  • Ability to open and lift equipment access panels, covers, and lids during inspections.
  • Ability to work in confined or restricted spaces, including looking underneath equipment and crawling beneath units to perform inspections and quality assessments.
  • Ability to perform hands-on inspections, audits, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
  • Comfortable working in hot and cold conditions, as manufacturing facilities are not climate controlled.
  • Ability to safely perform all physical aspects of the position while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
