Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Senior HRIS Analyst serves as a system expert and strategic partner in the design, configuration, and optimization of the Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) system. This role leads advanced system initiatives, ensures data integrity and security, supports complex business processes, and drives technology enabled solutions that enhance HR effectiveness.
The incumbent is responsible for delivering high-impact configurations, leading technical projects, advising HR leadership, and coaching HR team members on system best practices.
Primary Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Lead the evaluation, design, and implementation of new Workday features, functionality, and modules that align with organizational strategy.
  • Serve as a Workday SME across multiple functional areas (e.g., HCM, Reporting, Compensation, Security, Talent).
  • Recommend and implement system enhancements to improve user experience, process efficiency, and data governance.
  • Provide advanced functional support, performing root-cause analysis and resolving complex system issues.
  • Design, configure, test, and deploy changes across Workday.
  • Maintain and optimize system security roles, access management, and audit controls.
  • Develop advanced reports, calculated fields, dashboards, worksheets, and scorecards, coach HR team members on reporting best practices.
  • Lead ownership of enterprise HR reporting (talent scorecard, compliance reporting, executive reporting packages).
  • Analyze complex data trends and provide insights that support strategic workforce decisions.
  • Own HRIS data governance standards and perform regular audits to ensure data quality, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Lead annual and cyclical processes within Workday (e.g., compensation cycles, performance cycles, merit planning).
  • Manage system documentation, SOPs, and ensure change control processes are followed.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, Payroll, IT, and business leaders to understand needs and translate them into scalable system solutions.
  • Provide mentorship and informal leadership to HR team members on HRIS functionality and analytics.
  • Lead vendor management activities and help negotiate enhancements or technical solutions.
  • Lead HRIS projects, including requirements gathering, project planning, testing, deployment, and change management.
  • Represent HRIS in enterprise IT governance or cross-functional system initiatives.
  • Stay current on HR technology trends, Workday roadmap updates, and emerging analytics capabilities.
  • Identify and recommend new tools, integrations, or automations to elevate HR operations.

Knowledge/ Skills:
  • Knowledge of Workday system configuration and functionality.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently configure and optimize Workday.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Advanced analytical skills with experience creating complex reports and dashboards.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to nontechnical audiences.
  • High attention to detail with strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across departments.
  • Commitment to integrity and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in HR, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years HRIS experience with progressive responsibility.
  • Strong Workday knowledge required;
  • Workday certifications preferred.
  • Experience leading system configuration, major releases, and/or module implementations.
  • Experience with HR analytics, data storytelling, and dashboard design.
