About the Role:
Claims Resolution Specialists (CRS) at Elephant are often the first point of contact for our customers after an accident. These claims adjusters provide excellent customer service while assisting customers through the claims process. These adjusters evaluate low complexity auto insurance claims to determine whether Elephant can pay for the claims and, if so, how much will be paid. These adjusters are essential to our customers' satisfaction and must be passionate about customer service. This role offers a unique opportunity for professional development as Elephant is a growing company that encourages internal promotions and growth.
Work Environment:
At Elephant, our CRS Adjusters work in a hybrid work environment after successfully completing training and nesting. Once fully trained and proficient in the role, team members can work from home, with an expectation of coming into the office one day per month.
To help set you up for success, training and nesting are conducted in person at our Richmond area office, where you'll receive hands-on support, coaching, and connection with your team as you learn the role.
Because of this, candidates must live within 50 miles of Richmond VA and be able to commute to the office each day during training and nesting, and at least once per month after transitioning to a hybrid schedule.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Receive and document new claims via inbound calls and vendor notices of loss.
  • Conduct basic coverage and liability investigations including recorded statements from insureds, claimants, and witnesses.
  • Request and review police reports, photos, and supporting documentation to determine facts of loss.
  • Assess liability and communicate determinations to all involved parties.
  • Arrange vehicle estimates, coordinate repairs, and manage the rental process for customers.
  • Issue payments within delegated authority limits.
  • Escalate complex coverage or liability questions to more experienced adjusters or team managers.
  • Assist in catastrophe response situations as needed.
  • Job Requirements
  • Able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for 8-hour workdays with breaks and lunchtime provided
  • Ability to be on the phone for 8-hour workdays
  • Manual dexterity to type on computer

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and work efficiently
  • Basic math, computer, and typing skills
  • Demonstrated communication skills and ability to resolve conflicts
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Talent for investigation and research

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior work from home experience
  • 2 - 4 years of customer service or claims experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook

In-Office Requirements
