PAY: $80,000 - $95,000 annually DOE (salary ranges provided by PSI are based on skill set and years of relevant experience).

Founded in 1969, Pine Street Inn (PSI) serves more than 2,000+ homeless individuals daily and nearly 9,000 annually, providing the full spectrum of services to help homeless individuals reach their highest level of independence and get back to a place they can call home.

Pine Street Inn collaborates with homeless individuals to help them move from the streets and shelter to a home and assists formerly homeless individuals in retaining housing. We provide street outreach, emergency services, supportive housing, job training and connections to employment. We tirelessly advocate for collaborative solutions to end homelessness.


Job Summary:

The Learning Experience Designer designs, develops, and implements learning programs.

The Learning Experience Designer's responsibilities include conducting needs assessments, designing curriculum, developing content and providing engaging learning experiences.

They are highly experienced in instructional design, possess excellent content creation skills, and are passionate about lifelong learning and development.

The Learning Experience Designer designs and delivers impactful learning experiences that enhance knowledge and skills and drive measurable improvement in performance.

They apply principles of instructional design, multimedia design, and user experience (UX) design to create effective learning solutions.


Requirements

Education/ Training:


  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, psychology, or a related field. Deep understanding of learning theories, pedagogy, and curriculum design principles.
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and digital technology, as well as user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles.
  • Proficient in learning management systems (LMS) and course authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or others.

Knowledge/ Experience:

  • Analyze learning needs and goals of the organization or learners
  • Design and develop learning experiences and instructional materials to meet those needs and goals
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure the accuracy of instructional content
  • Use a variety of instructional design models, learning theories, and multimedia tools to create engaging learning experiences
  • Test and evaluate the effectiveness of learning experiences and make improvements as needed
  • Ensure that learning experiences are accessible and inclusive for all learners
  • Keep up to date with new trends and technologies in learning and instructional design
  • Document design processes and learner feedback for ongoing improvement and future reference
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure a seamless user experience
  • Identify training needs through consultations, focus groups and analysis of performance data.
  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer of knowledge.
  • Design and develop multimedia-based learning materials and content.
  • Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts.
  • Apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods.
  • Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process.
  • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role-plays, games etc.).
  • Devise modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the course.

Core Skills:

  • Proven working experience in instructional design and with instructional technology.
  • Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio and video scripts.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and eLearning authoring tools.
  • Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator) and ability to storyboard.
