Job description

Summary/Objective:
The Sr. Application Engineer will lead the design and development of application software and integration objects for our WMS (Warehouse Management System) to meet the requirements of our internal operations and customers. You will lead the efforts to connect our WMS with outside customers and internal applications. The Sr. Application Engineer is responsible for developing custom solutions to enhance our business workflows. You will interact with, and advise, the Operations teams and other internal customers to ensure our WMS is meeting their business standards. The Sr. Application Engineer will serve as the lead in setting strategy for business solutions required to guarantee the success of our customer implementations and operational processes.
Essential Functions:

  • Partner with various non-technical managers to understand complex, dynamic business rules/processes and then create detailed, and comprehensive documentation.
  • Lead WMS projects, upgrades and integrations with ERP, TMS and warehouse automation systems
  • Identify root cause of persistent issues and recommend permanent solutions.
  • Works with functional areas to identify and develop system driven optimizations
  • Develop APIs and other integration objects to connect applications and warehouse automation
  • Develop software code and stored procedures to transform data and support custom business flows as needed
  • Create and execute SQL queries to persist data; reporting; data transformation and performance monitoring
  • Analyze our customer requirements and design integration flows to persist data into our WMS schemas
  • Quickly change direction when working on multiple projects or issues.
  • Deliver professional, clear and effective instructions to audiences at different levels within the organization and guide completion of tasks to ensure all steps are followed.
  • Effectively communicates relevant information to superiors.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) preferred or 5-7 years of direct, related experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience with configuring/modifying accounts within SCALE (mandatory).
  • Proven track record in WMS configuration, implementation and support
  • Proficiency in SQL and reporting tools (Microsoft SSRS, PowerBI)
  • Experience with EDI, API and data integration
  • Ability to develop software code objects to support business flows and transform/persist data
  • Experience with warehouse automation/robotics and integration to the WMS host
  • Very strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, commitments, and projects in fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong work ethic with a high degree of flexibility to work in an ambiguous environment.
