A family-owned and award-winning Pennsylvania winery is seeking an experienced and dynamic Tasting Room Manager to lead our day-to-day operations, elevate guest experience, and support our continued growth. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a hospitality environment, enjoys building strong teams, and has a passion for wine, service, and operational excellence.

This position entails management of tasting room staff, daily winery operations: selling wines, wine club memberships, and advocating / telling the story of our small, family-owned winery. We strive to provide a memorable wine experience through our excellent customer service and high-quality wine.

With that said, we are looking for an outgoing and eager personality with strong and inspirational leadership skills. This position is ideal for an intrinsically motivated candidate who is a self-starter, an exceptional communicator, and a proficient networker. You must be able to work well in a team environment as this position is key in supporting and co-creating the continued evolution of the Penns Woods community.

This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position that requires evening and weekend shifts within a fast-paced environment

  • Develop and maintain service standards aligned with the winery’s brand and values.
  • Ensure smooth staffing coverage, efficient workflows, and adherence to company standards.
  • Assist with product and inventory management.
  • Ensure the front of house is welcoming, well-maintained, properly stocked, seasonally decorated, and consistently clean, organized, and optimized for retail presentation and guest centered.
  • Organize wine, food and dry-goods storage

Staff Leadership

  • Manage, train, and mentor tasting room associates and supervisors.
  • Create staffing schedule and assist with performance reviews.
  • Foster a positive team culture built on communication, accountability, and hospitality.

Guest Experience

  • Maintain exceptional customer service standards across all touchpoints.
  • Oversee and assist in tasting room service, wine tastings, VIP experiences, and on-site events.
  • Handle guest escalations with professionalism and solutions-focused thinking.

Wine Club & DTC Sales

  • Support Wine Club Manager to enhance retention, membership growth, and customer engagement.
  • Drive tasting room sales, club sign-ups, and event participation.
  • Monitor sales performance, promotional activity, and the movement and popularity of retail and menu items, as well as overall guest feedback.

Events & Programming

  • Coordinate with the Events Manager to support onsite events, wine club gatherings, and special experiences.
  • Ensure seamless execution and strong representation of the winery's brand.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of management experience in hospitality, retail, beverage, or winery/vineyard operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and direct teams.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience with POS systems (e.g., Commerce7), scheduling and reservations platforms, Canva and basic Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work weekends, evenings, and event shifts as required.
  • Wine knowledge is a plus; willingness to learn is essential.

  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience
  • Tips and commission opportunities
