Job description

Software Engineer / Systems Administrator

(location: Springfield, VA)

The selected individual will be responsible to support the Framework Services / Platform and Security scrum team, performing operations / maintenance of program Window systems software and associated applications. Team members must be able to install, configure, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve problems with Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Windows 2012 Server, and Active Directory and other Windows based applications. Team members must have a strong knowledge of DNS, TCP/IP, WINS, DHCP, networking technologies, and server-based software applications.
Duties include setting up accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance and interaction with vendors to evaluate vendor products.

  • Responsible for the enterprise-level engineering of over 120 servers running Windows 2012 and Windows 10 desktops.
  • Writes scripts to automate complex administration procedures using VBScript and PowerShell.
  • Utilizes enterprise management software tools such as Microsoft System Management Server and Windows Server Update Services.
  • Maintains VMware ESX servers using VirtualCenter and VMotion.
  • Administers high-availability server clusters running Veritas Storage Foundation HA and Microsoft Clustering.
  • Manages complex DNS infrastructure using Windows DHCP servers.
  • Maintains large Windows terminal server farms supporting over 300+ users.
  • Implements and modifies complex Active Directory Group Policy Objects.
  • Updates and tracks customer issues using the Service Now and IBM Clearquest systems.

Applicant selected must possess a current TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly clearance (government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information).


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Windows Admin Experience (Server 2012 - Server 2019, Win Active Directory).
  • Scripting Experience (Batch, PowerShell).
  • Understanding of LAN and WAN infrastructure.
  • Very Good MS Office Suite Skills.
  • Very Good interpersonal, writing, and communication skills.
  • Project Management skills.
  • IC domain knowledge.
  • Security + certification (or like) or ability/willingness to obtain.
  • Current TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly Clearance.
  • Must have a customer approved security certification:
    • Security+, SSCP, CISSP, or CASP
  • Experience/proficiency in one or more of the following:
    • Object Oriented (OO) using C#, Java or C++
    • PowerShell, Linux Shell Script, SQL, PL/SQL
    • Web development (PHP, JavaScript,.NET Framework, ASP .NET)
    • Agile development
    • Background in Systems Administration on Windows based platforms
    • Windows Server Operating Systems experience
    • Red Hat Linux Administration experience


    Education:

    Bachelor (or 4 years additional experience)
